Let’s Live With Earth – European Solidarity Corps Volunteering Programme The "Let’s Live With Earth ESC Volunteering" invites young Europeans to live, learn, and act for sustainability in Torres Vedras, Portugal. Hosted by Live With Earth, this journey is part of the European Solidarity Corps, empowering youth to co-create social and environmental impact aligned with the EU Green Deal, the New European Bauhaus, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Running from 17 August to 30 November 2026, three volunteers will join our team in this second edition, to explore circular design, eco-innovation, community regeneration, and eco-arts—combining hands-on practice, creative expression, and local action. We structure the experience around three immersive learning areas: EARTH TO BUILD – Natural Building Design Course Hands-on training in ecological construction with local, low-impact materials (earth, lime, fibers). Volunteers practice earthen plasters, natural paints, and small eco-builds, helping improve our spaces and learning safe, regenerative techniques for resilient habitats. EARTH TO COLOR – Natural Pigments & Eco-Arts A creative dive into biodegradable, non-toxic pigments from the landscape. Participants experiment with color extraction, natural binders, eco-paint recipes, and mural work—translating ecology into visual culture and educational tools for the community. EARTH TO PLANT – Regenerative Design & Permaculture Practices Training and fieldwork in regenerative systems: soil care, water cycles, composting, polycultures, edible gardens, seed saving, and land stewardship. Volunteers help plan and maintain our garden and eco-areas, learning to design living systems that restore ecosystems, raise biodiversity and promote abundance. A peak moment of the project is the Live With Earth Design Conference for Sustainable Development (LWE DC4SD 2026). Volunteers co-organize logistics, communications, and an interactive panel area curated with partners—meeting designers, educators, artists, and local actors while turning ideas into public dialogue and action. Beyond the learning areas, volunteers support daily management at our headquarters—garden care, space setup, eco-operations, documentation, communication—and collaborate with local partners such as Escola Mãos na Terra, Metamorfoses Eco-Design Atelier, and Enxara Retreats in eco-education and cultural initiatives. Life here is also about personal growth and community: cycling through the territory as eco-mobility, discovering local traditions, practicing languages, and developing key soft and hard skills—teamwork, communication, leadership, eco-literacy, design thinking, and project organization. Volunteers leave as ambassadors of regeneration, ready to seed change wherever they go. This programme it’s a transformative path where knowledge becomes practice, creativity becomes service, and solidarity becomes a way of life.
